"Vidyarambha" was organised by VKV-Suklai for the new comers of classes Nursery and KG on 02/03/23. The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal who lit the lamp and the ladies teachers sang manglacharan. Principal Sir also addressed the audience. A guru bhajan was sung by the teachers in addition with Saraswati Vandana. The new parents were informed about the rules and regulations of the school. The ideology of Vivekananda Kendra was also told to them. The new students worshipped Goddess Saraswati by offering flowers. They wrote 'OM' on rice and took prasad.

‘Matri Puja’ was organised in VKV-Suklai on 3rd Feb, 2023 after school. All the parents (mother) of class X students were worshipped by their son/daughter. The students washed their mother’s feet, prayed to them by offering flowers, diya and sweets. They took blessings from their mothers. The entire ceremony was done under the guidance and instructions of Sri D. Malaviya sir of VKV, Baragolai , who arrived the same day. He made the students realised the importance of mother in a person’s life by narrating stories and some real life incidents. At the end some students and parents also shared their experience on this occasion.

‘Utsarga Samaroh’ was observed in the school on 4th Feb, 2023 in early morning hours. Sri Malviya sir explained the purpose of Utsarga Samaroh to the students. Many parents were also present in the programme. All the students’ lighted diya, offered flowers to ‘OM’, took Prasad and blessings from teachers. All the teachers also offered flowered to ‘OM’. The song ‘Aaj tan man aur jivan .........’ was played during the whole ceremony.

Ajwala Narzary & Neehir Boro (Both from class IX) were selected for NCSC, at the National Level, which was held in Ahmedabad from 27th to 31st Jan, 2023. Neehir Boro went for final presentation. He performed a project presentation on the topic “Bamboo as Natural Container” and was awarded a medal and participation certificate. ii) Pragjyoti Prakashan Trust of Guwahati organised a state level Gita Chanting Competition on 08/01/23. ‘Republic Day’ was celebrated in the school on 26th Janurary, 2023 in the morning hours. All the teachers attended the flag hoisting. The Principal hoisted the tri colour and everybody sang national anthem. (The programme was short because of Saraswati Puja on the same day). Saraswati Puja started in the school by the priest at 9:00 am which ended by offering anjali to Goddess Saraswati 3 times. All the teachers, students, parents and other well wishers of the school offered flowers and incense sticks to Maa Saraswati. Later on, they took Prasad and food in the school campus. Many parents helped in food distribution and other related works of the day. It was all total a gathering of more than 750 people.

Vivekananda Jayanti/National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th January, 2023. The programme started by lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Anant Swarup Maharaj, Sidheswar Shiva Temple, Suagpur accompanied by the Principal. The students presented cultural programmes including group dance, group song, gita chanting, yoga display, bhajan, drama on rock memorial and boro dance by parents. Some sports awards of group events were also distributed on that day. Many passed out students also come to see the celebration. There were around 400 people present.

The annual day of the school was on 11/1/23. The Chief Guest in the programme was Sri Ranendra Narzary, EM, Suklai Serphang Constituency, BTR who inaugurated the programme by lighting of the lamp together with manglacharan. All the students of Pre-primary and primary section participated in various cultural programmes. The Chief Guest also addressed the audience including all the students and their parents. Other important personalities of the locality who attended the programme as guests were Ashok Boro, Assistant Engineer, Goreswar Block, Topeswar Klaita, Head Master, Magurmari Kolbari High School. The programme included group song, group dance, Gita Chanting, yoga display and Assamese dance by parents. It was a gathering of more than 400 people.

The 16th Annual Sports Meet 2022-23 started on 4th January, 2023 in VKV, Suklai and continued till 6th January, 2023. The formal inauguration programme started by lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Sir Diju Kr. Boro, In-charge of ITI, Suklai. He was also asked to address the students, and was felicitated and welcomed by the Principal. The winners of various games were also given away with the awards and certificates during the days of games event.

‘Samarth Bharat Parva’ started in School from 26th December, 2022 (25th being Sunday). In the morning assembly, other than regular prayer chanting of Gayatri Mantra, song on Eknathji or Swamiji and speech by teachers on great personalities of India, everyday is being practiced. This will continue till 12th Jan, 2023.

VKV, Suklai observed a Grand Father’s Day on 22nd December, 2022 where grand parents of children of classes IV and V were invited in the school to attend the programme. They were worshipped by their grand son/grand daughter following some rituals. Later, some games & activities were organised for them. The winner grand parents were also awarded.

Selected students from classes VI-VIII of VKV, Suklai participated in a Science Model Making Competition held at Magurmari M.V. School. On the same day a chess competition was organised for primary section students in the school (VKV Suklai). The Chief Guest Sri Rishabh Kar, Retd. Teacher of Nidhwa L.P. School inaugurated the programme. At the end he also awarded medals to the winners. Again, Gita Jayanti was also observed on the same day in VKV, Suklai. The Chief Guest inaugurated the programme. There was a Geeta Chanting competition for students. At the end the Chief Guest displayed digital Geeta Chanting.

Lachit Divas was observed in school on 24th November, 2022. There was a colouring competition for Nursery & KG students and drawing competition for class I to class V students. Also for senior students there was a quiz competition and go as you like for class III to class V students. Some selected students of class VIII presented band display and a cultural programme related to Lachit Borphukan in Bangalipara Chowk. Chief Guest of the programme was Shesh Prasad Luitel, Retd. Head Master of Bholajhar Uparkhuti High School. The Principal inaugurated the programme by lighting of the lamp. In this programme, the main events included like group song, poem recitation and a shadow formation act by some selected students.
Our students were able to grab five prizes out of eight prizes in recently concluded Cognitive Exchange Basic Speech Course & English Refresher/English Spoken competition. The competition of Basic Speech Course was in between VKV-Suklai and VKV-Borojalenga whereas; the competition of English Refresher/English Spoken Course Competition was in between VKV-Suklai and VKV-Tumpreng. ‘Sadhna Divas’ was observed in the school on 19th November, 2022. There was a group song competition from class VI to class IX students house-wise. The students sang song of Eknathji. There were also some games and yoga for the students of class VIII under Sanskar Varga.

Ganit Prajna Samvardhan Programme was organised by the school on 18th November, 2022 in the school premises. The Chief Guest Sri Tulsi Prasad Sharma, inaugurated the programme and also spoke on the importance of Maths as a subject in schools.

‘Bodo Literary Day’ was observed in the school where the chief guest Sri Sanjay Basumatary inaugurated the programme. Bodo speaking children presented poems and cultural dance in Bodo. Selected students also presented a patriotic song in Bodo. A wall magazine was also made by students in Bodo language.

‘Children’s Day’ was observed in the school on 14th November, 2022. On that day, morning assembly was performed by the teachers. The programme was inaugurated by Prakash Sir with lighting of the lamp and manglacharan. Primary section students presented an action song. There was a game among the students of Class IV to Class VII. Some selected students presented a drama on Eknathji.

VKSPV organised Ganit Prajna Samvardhan programme at NIT-Silchar from 13/10/22 to 16/10/22 for felicitating the rank holders in Ganit Prajna Pariksha examination. In that programme, our school topper (Bodraj Sitoula) was present along with escort teacher (Deepjyoti Sarmah).

VKV-Suklai observed ‘Vegetable Day’ on 29th October, 2022. Principal Sir did the lighting of the lamp followed by manglacharan by the ladies teachers. On that programme, nursery students dressed like a particular fruit and told few lines on that fruit. The first three position holders were given away with prizes.

‘Madhabdeb Tithi’ was observed in the school during afternoon prayer of 15th September, 2022. During this observation Principal Sir lit diya before the photo of Madhabdeb and some selected students sang the manglacharan. Moreover, one teacher briefly delivered speech on Madhabdeb and one another teacher sang a borgeet.

‘Universal brotherhood day” was celebrated in the school on 12th September, 2022. The celebration started by lighting of the lamp by Principal Sir together with manglacharan. Selected students presented a drama based on Swamiji’s life and one student delivered the famous Chicago speech, who was also dressed as Swamiji. Other events included song of Swamiji, patriotic dance, etc. Moreover, Bhumika Mahanta of class IX received the prize of participation in State level extempore speech competition organised by Assam Science Technology & Environment council. The competition held at IIT-Guwahati in September 2022. Some selected students were divided into two groups who went to different schools with their escorting teachers. The name of the schools are- Magurmari Kolbari High School Bholajhar Uparkhuti H.S. School In all these schools, students presented Swamiji’s Chicago speech, a story based on Swamiji’s life, patriotic and cultural dance (Boro dance) and Swamiji’s song.

‘Teachers Day’ was celebrated in VKV-Suklai on 5th September, 2022. The programme started by lighting of the lamp by the Principal Sir. Students presented cultural programmes on the occasion which included group song, dances, speech, etc. Class X students also acted as teacher and took classes in junior and in middle section. They also honoured Principal Sir and all other teachers.

‘Shankar Dev Tithi’ was observed on 29th of August in the school (for senior section only). The programme started by lighting of the lamp by The Principal with manglacharan. Significance of the day was told by one teacher. The other events were Borgeet, poem recitation, satriya dance and naam kirtan by some teachers. There was also an exhibition on books and traditional musical instruments of Assam.

‘Janmashtami’ was observed in the school (for primary section only) in the first half of 19th August, 2022. Students of Nursery and KG participated in Krishna Competition where they acted as Krishna. After that there was the event of Matki phod (breaking pot) by them. One day before these was a pot decoration/ painting competition for the students of classes III-IV and story telling (class I and II). Some teachers also sang Krishna Bhajan during the programme.

‘Independence Day’ was celebrated in a grand way in VKV-Suklai to mark the occasion of 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav). The tricolour was hoisted by the Principal in the presence of all the teachers, students and a large number of parents. Selected senior students presented a band display and March Past. A good number of students presented many cultural programmes like devotional dance, patriotic song and drama. Other than these, all teachers and students together sang the patriotic song (Janani janma bhumi ..........). The chief guest of the programme was Dr. Dilip Deka (Jogen Basumatary Memorial 30 bedded hospital) who gave away prizes to the students for different competition and two of the teachers for their performance and work. Rakshabandhan ‘Rakshabandhan’ was observed in the school on 11th August, 2022 during the morning hours. The programme started by lighting of the lamp by Prakash sir together with manglacharan. Class X girls tied rakhee on the photo of Swamiji. After that, girls tied rakhees to their brothers (classes X). They also tied rakhees to some teachers. Sweets were distributed to all children. Also there was a rakhee making competition among senior students VI-IX the previous day.
